There’s a certain kind of joy that comes with photographing weddings — the laughter, the chaos, the emotion, and the little moments that make each one unique. But sometimes, the best creative days happen when you’re not the lead photographer — when you get to second shoot and focus purely on storytelling through your own perspective.

That’s exactly what this wedding in Wellsville, Utah was like. I had the honor of second shooting for Nicole from Iotamaker during Tashe and Josh’s special day, and it was the perfect mix of teamwork, creativity, and celebration.

🤝 The Dream Team
Working with Nicole is always such a seamless experience. She’s incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and full of creative energy — which makes second shooting with her feel effortless. My main focus for the day was capturing candid moments, alternate angles, and those little behind-the-scenes details that often go unseen.
Second shooting gives you a different kind of freedom — you get to observe and capture genuine emotion without the weight of directing the entire day. It’s all about finding connection in the in-between moments.
📸 The Day Itself
Tashe and Josh’s wedding was full of heartfelt details and genuine warmth. The venue in

Wellsville was surrounded by open fields and mountain views — classic Cache Valley scenery that never fails to make me fall a little more in love with Utah light.
From getting-ready laughter to golden-hour portraits, every part of the day felt intentional and personal. I spent time photographing guests, small décor details, and reaction shots during the ceremony — all the things that help round out a wedding gallery and tell the full story.
And of course, Nicole absolutely crushed it behind the lens. Watching another talented photographer at work is always inspiring, especially when we get to bounce creative ideas off each other throughout the day.
✨ The Beauty of Collaboration
Being a second shooter reminds me how collaborative photography truly is. It’s not about ego or credit — it’s about teamwork, trust, and showing up for another creative in your field.
Every wedding is different, but this one in particular stood out for how relaxed and joyful it felt. The couple radiated happiness, the team worked in sync, and the day ended with the kind of sunset light photographers dream of.

🤍 Grateful for the Experience
I’m so grateful to Nicole for inviting me along for Tashe and Josh’s day. Every second shooting experience teaches me something new — about composition, light, rhythm, and connection.
It’s a reminder that no matter how many weddings I photograph, there’s always room to grow, learn, and collaborate with others who love this work just as much as I do.
