Evening Hot Springs Photography Meetup with Salt Lake City Inspired

There’s something magical about photographing in the evening — when the light softens, the air cools, and the world feels a little slower. This Salt Lake City Inspired meetup took us to one of Utah’s hot springs just as the sun began to dip behind the mountains. The warm steam mixed with that golden-hour glow, creating the kind of dreamy atmosphere photographers live for.

I’d been looking forward to this one for weeks — a chance to unwind, shoot for fun, and connect with familiar faces again.
🌿 Familiar Faces & New Memories
One of the highlights of the evening was getting to work with Makea again — we had done a midsummer session together earlier in the year, and she brought the same radiant energy this time around. The warm air and steam added an entirely different tone to her look, soft and cinematic in the best way.
And then there was Savannah, a dear friend and one of the models that evening. Midway through the session, I learned she was pregnant with her first baby — and it honestly made the whole night feel even more special. Capturing her glowing joy in that soft light felt like documenting the start of a new chapter.
✨ Just Vibes, Laughter, and Steam

If I had to sum up this session in three words: fun, relaxed, and slightly chaotic.
There were jokes flying between shots, people teasing each other about slipping on the rocks, and a whole lot of laughter echoing through the steam. The kind of energy that reminds you why you fell in love with photography in the first place — creating for the joy of it, with people who make you smile.
🌤️ Evening Lessons
Shooting at sunset in a steamy environment is its own adventure — lens fog, changing light, and reflections everywhere. But those challenges always turn into opportunities. The textures, the glow, the movement of the steam — they all became part of the story.
Sometimes, the most beautiful images come from letting go and just enjoying the moment.

🤍 The Takeaway
This Salt Lake City Inspired meetup was the perfect mix of creativity and community — old friends, new memories, and a few unforgettable surprises. The laughter, the golden light, the warmth of the water — it all came together to create something truly special.
Here’s to more evenings like this one — where the art feels easy, the people feel like family, and the steam makes everything glow just a little softer.
