What I Listen to and Watch While I Edit Photos

Editing days can get long — especially after a full weekend of shoots. Hours spent behind the screen, sorting through images, color grading, and piecing together galleries can feel like both art and endurance training.

So what keeps me company while I work? A steady stream of podcasts, YouTube rabbit holes, and the occasional “one episode turns into five” binge-watch.
🕵️ True Crime & Curious Minds

When I’m deep in editing mode and want something that keeps my brain engaged but my hands busy, I always lean toward storytelling podcasts. A few
staples on repeat:
🎙️ Crime Junkie – My go-to for that perfect mix of mystery and narrative.

🕯️ Dark History – Bailey Sarian’s voice + dark historical stories = editing fuel.
👻 Lore – Atmospheric, creepy, and perfect for late-night editing sessions.
💰 Swindled – White-collar crime, shady businesses, and wild twists.

🐉 Fantasy Fangirls – Because sometimes I need a dose of fun fandom energy in between crime stories.
🧠 The Why Files – Weird science, conspiracy theories, and stories that make me go, “Wait… what?”
There’s something about true crime and strange history that keeps my focus sharp — it’s like background storytelling for my creativity.

📺 Shows That Keep Me Company
When I’m not in the mood for podcasts, I switch over to shows — a mix of moody visuals, absurd comedy, and guilty-pleasure reality TV.
💀 Wednesday – Dark, stylish, and full of gothic vibes I secretly wish every photoshoot had.

👽 Dan Da Dan – A little chaos, a little heart, and just the right amount of weird.
🦸♂️Invincible – For those days I need something action-packed while I cull.

😂 Smosh Reddit Stories – Perfect bite-sized chaos that keeps me laughing through long edits.
🧟 Horror History – Atmospheric and oddly

soothing when I’m working late.📺 Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (and honestly, any reality show) – Because sometimes the best editing companion is pure, unfiltered drama.

It’s all about balance — a little darkness, a little humor, and a lot of background noise that makes the hours fly by.
☕ Why It Matters
I’ve learned that the right background noise makes a huge difference in my creative flow. Some days it’s quiet focus, other days it’s full-blown multitasking with a true crime podcast and a cup of coffee that’s gone cold three times.

It’s not about distraction — it’s about rhythm. Finding the sounds and stories that make editing feel like hanging out with friends while creating something beautiful.
