Welcome to my corner of the internet! I like to think I'll be regular with posting blogs, but I'm known to take frequent social media breaks. We might as well as start off with a little bit of introduction to Rachael Shine Photography, your friendly Northern Utah photographer.

Who is Rachael Shine Photography?

You might have guessed it, but my name is Rachael Shine. I'm born and raised in Utah and absolutely love the beauty of this state. Some fun facts about me include:

• I have complete heterochromia. This means that my eyes are in fact different colors (blue and brown).

• I LOVE to read books! Fantasy and Thriller are my favorite genres. I also frequently read Advanced Reader copies of books so I'm happy to make a suggestion!

• I do have a day job in Engineering. This allows me to work both sides of my brain in tandem with photography.

• My zodiac sign is a Gemini. I don't have all my signs memorized but I'm always fascinated by things of this nature.

• I own a Kawasaki Z500SE motorcycle and love it! I occasionally will bring it to photoshoots if I want to put my camera up to that. Of course this is also an expensive hobby!

• I LOVE travelling! Experiencing new cultures is always so eye opening. I try to take at least a trip to somewhere new each year, and travel internationally as often as possible.

Where is Rachael Shine Photography?

In good ol' northern Utah, I call Logan my home base for operations. Does this mean that Logan is the only location I will take photos? Absolutely not! I frequently travel down to Salt Lake City for sessions. Got something in mind that is further than that? PLEASE reach out to me! As previously mentioned, I love to travel. So while Cache County is home to me, it does not have to be home to your photo session. I've had the pleasure of taking photos for people in Oregon, Nevada, California, Arizona, and even Japan!

What does Rachael Shine Photography do?

To be totally honest, I'm always dabbling in new areas in the photography world! I've had the pleasure of capturing weddings, families, seniors, editorials, brands, and so much more. I try to follow the motto "You can't knock it 'til you try it" in all areas of life, especially in photography.

This is in Powell's City of Books in Portland, Oregon.

My favorite types of shoots are weddings and editorials. Weddings are always super crazy and you feel like you've been hit by a truck by the end of the day. But, there is really no other feeling that can be compared to how it feels when someone trusts you to capture such a special day. The love in the air is always so palpable and I might ever tear up at a few weddings. Editorials are the exact opposite! They usually have a pretty firm concept that is the goal for the shoot and they are much less stressful. But they provide great opportunities to let your creative juices flow and make so many new friends!

My current dabble is with videography! It's a completely different ballgame than photography and I'm excited to see where it takes me!
