🌟 Breaking Creative Boundaries with SLC Inspired
One of my favorite things about photography is stepping into spaces that most people wouldn’t think of as “beautiful” and discovering how much magic we can create there.
Recently, I had the opportunity to join SLC Inspired for a one-of-a-kind shipping container photoshoot in Salt Lake City.
This session was bold, edgy, and full of variety — exactly the kind of creative challenge I love to sink into.
👥 Working with a Variety of Models
The best part of this photoshoot? The incredible group of models I got to work with. Each person brought their own style and personality, and the industrial backdrop gave us endless ways to highlight those differences. From confident editorial vibes to more candid portraits, the shipping container yard became the perfect stage.

📷 Getting Creative with Gear
I also got to break out my ultra wide lens, which is always so much fun. The geometric lines of the stacked shipping containers made for such dynamic compositions. Playing with perspective, negative space, and bold colors helped me push beyond my normal shooting style and lean into something more experimental.
🌆 Why a Shipping Container Photoshoot Works
You might not think of a shipping yard as the perfect place for portraits — but that’s what makes it exciting! The rugged textures, bold shapes, and urban-industrial energy bring a whole new dimension to photos. It’s a reminder that creativity isn’t about the setting — it’s about the vision you bring to it.
