🌱 A Year That Changed Me (In the Best Way)

2025 was a year of stretching, learning, and showing up—even when it felt uncomfortable. As a Utah and destination photographer, I photographed weddings, families, seniors, branding sessions, creative editorials, and intimate moments across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada. And while the galleries were beautiful, the real growth happened between the shoots.
Here are the biggest lessons 2025 taught me—both as a photographer and as a human. 🤍

📸 You Don’t Have to Shoot Everything to Be a “Real” Photographer
One of the biggest shifts this year was learning that doing less can actually mean creating better work.
Not every session needs to be booked.
Not every idea needs to be executed.
Not every opportunity aligns with where I’m going.
By being more intentional with what I say yes to, I had more energy for:
✨ Creative shoots
✨ Branding sessions
✨ Editorial concepts
✨ Clients who truly value the experience
Quality over quantity changed everything.

💸 Knowing Your Worth Is a Skill (And It Takes Practice)
Pricing used to feel scary. Talking about money felt awkward. But 2025 taught me that charging what I’m worth allows me to show up better for my clients.
When pricing reflects:
• Time
• Skill
• Experience
• Emotional labor
It creates better boundaries, better communication, and better experiences for everyone involved.
📅 Boundaries Aren’t Barriers — They’re Protection
This year, I learned that boundaries don’t make me difficult—they make me sustainable.
Boundaries helped me:
✔ Protect my creativity
✔ Avoid burnout
✔ Show up fully present on shoot days
✔ Deliver better galleries
Clear expectations = happier clients + healthier me.

🌄 Creativity Thrives When You Leave Your Comfort Zone
Some of my favorite moments from 2025 came from creative and collaborative shoots—including concepts like:
• Midsummer
• Lady of the Lake
• Salt Flats editorials
• Hot springs sessions
• Shipping container shoots
• Branding and storytelling sessions
Creativity isn’t something you “wait” for—it’s something you make room for.

🤍 The People Matter More Than the Portfolio
This year reminded me that photography is about people first.
Clients trusting me with their stories.
Friends cheering me on behind the scenes.
Associates learning and growing alongside me.
Moments that won’t happen again.
The images matter—but the memories attached to them matter more.
🧭 Looking Ahead: Goals for the Next Year
As I move forward, my goals are clear:
✨ More branding sessions
✨ More creative and conceptual shoots
✨ More intentional weddings and elopements
✨ Continued growth as both an artist and business owner
I’m building something sustainable, creative, and deeply human—and I’m excited for what’s next.

✨ Final Thoughts
2025 wasn’t about perfection.
It was about progress.
It was about trusting myself.
And it was about learning that growth doesn’t always look loud—but it always leaves a mark.
If you’re here reading this and thinking “I want photos that feel like that”—I’d love to work with you.
