🌍 5 Personal Growth Goals I'm Reaching for This Year

5 Personal Growth Goals I’m Working On in 2025

✨ Why I’m Sharing My Goals (and Why It Matters)

Goal-setting has always been personal for me. It’s not about chasing perfection — it’s about building a life that feels full, aligned, and meaningful. As a photographer and storyteller, I spend my days capturing other people’s dreams… but behind the lens, I’ve got a few dreams of my own too.

So today, I’m sharing 5 personal growth goals I’m reaching for — not because I’ve mastered them, but because they remind me what kind of life I want to live. Maybe they’ll resonate with you too.

🌎 1. Travel the World (One Dream Destination at a Time)

I’ve always believed that some of the best stories happen outside our comfort zones. That’s why traveling — both for work and for fun — is at the top of my goal list. There’s something humbling about standing in a place you’ve only seen in photos and realizing how big (and beautiful) the world really is.

From chasing golden hour in Japan to shooting love stories in the red rocks of the Southwest, I want to keep exploring. Not just for the postcard moments, but to meet new people, understand new cultures, and find inspiration in the everyday.

📚 2. Always Be Learning (In Life, Business, and Beyond)

There’s nothing more powerful than curiosity. Whether I’m diving into new editing techniques, exploring business strategy, or taking a deep-dive into something random just because — I never want to stop being a student of the world.

It’s not about being the best. It’s about growing, staying open, and pushing myself past what I already know.

Some of my favorite ways to keep learning include:

  • Online courses & webinars

  • Podcasts during drives to shoots

  • Surrounding myself with people who inspire me

📖 3. Read 75 Books per Year (Yes, Really!)

This one’s a fun challenge that feeds into my learning goal — and helps me slow down in a world that moves so fast. Reading is my way of grounding myself. It’s also where I find unexpected insights, storytelling ideas, and just plain joy.

My reading list includes:

  • Memoirs & nonfiction

  • Fantasy & fiction (hello escapism!)

  • Business, creativity, and mindset books

Whether it’s through audiobooks or flipping through real pages, this goal helps me unplug and recharge — one chapter at a time.

💸 4. Live Debt-Free (And Stay That Way)

Money is one of those topics that can feel really overwhelming or super empowering — and I’m choosing the second one. Being debt-free isn’t just about finances for me. It’s about peace of mind, freedom, and being able to say “yes” to things that align with my values.

This goal keeps me grounded in my business decisions, too. It’s not about hustle culture — it’s about creating a sustainable, joy-filled life that I can fully show up for.

🤝 5. Help Others When I Can

Whether it’s helping another photographer get started, supporting local businesses, or simply being available to a friend — I truly believe in community over competition. Life is way better when we show up for each other.

This goal reminds me that success isn’t just about what I achieve. It’s about what I give, how I connect, and the ripple effects we leave behind.

🧭 These Goals Keep Me Grounded

I’m not perfect, and I won’t hit these goals every single day. But that’s okay — because for me, goals aren’t about pressure. They’re about purpose. They give me direction, motivation, and a reminder of why I do what I do.

Thanks for reading and walking alongside me on this journey. 💛
