A Day in the Life: Second Shooting a Wedding in Logan, Utah 💍✨

As a photographer, every wedding day brings something unique, but this particular one stands out as such a beautiful and full celebration. I had the joy of second shooting for Nicole, the talented photographer behind Iotamaker, and together we captured a love story that unfolded across Logan and Wellsville, Utah. 💛

Here’s a little peek into what a full wedding day looks like, through my eyes:

Hand holds an iced coffee and sandwich in a car. Starbucks logo visible. Background shows parked cars and trees. A receipt reads "Rachel."

8:00 AM – Breakfast & Prep 🍳☕

The day always starts with fuel — both breakfast and coffee. Wedding days are long (and so worth it!), so a hearty meal is a must. With batteries charged, memory cards cleared, and gear packed, I was ready to roll.

8:30 AM – Wedding Party Photos at the Logan Utah Temple 📸

Our first stop was the Logan Utah Temple. The wedding party gathered outside, full of energy, laughter, and excitement. These moments are always so much fun because the bridal party brings so much personality, making it easy to capture candid joy and genuine connections.

11:00 AM – LDS Sealing Ceremony ✨

The sealing ceremony inside the temple was heartfelt and intimate. While cameras aren’t allowed inside, the moments immediately before and after are always special. Seeing the couple exit the temple doors as newlyweds never loses its magic.

12:00 PM – Family Photos 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

After the sealing, it was time for family portraits. This part of the day is a sweet blend of joyful reunions and gentle chaos (wrangling groups always takes teamwork!). It’s where we capture the relationships that have shaped the couple’s journey.

1:00 PM – Civil Ceremony at the American West Heritage Center 💒

Next, we headed to the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville, Utah, where the civil ceremony was held. The backdrop was breathtaking — wide open skies, rolling hills, and such a peaceful atmosphere.

1:30 PM – Luncheon 🥗🍽️

Guests gathered for a luncheon following the civil ceremony. It was a time for toasts, delicious food, and mingling. I always love these quieter moments of the day because they show the love and support surrounding the couple.

3:30 PM – Nap Break 😴

Yes, you read that right! Wedding days are marathons, not sprints, and a little downtime in the middle of the day is gold. After hours of photographing in the sun, this reset helped me be 100% ready for the evening.

5:30 PM – Re-Caffeinate & Reception Portraits ☕

📷

A quick energy drink in hand, I was back behind the camera for some stunning reception portraits. These are some of my favorites because the couple is finally relaxed after the formalities — all that’s left is fun, celebration, and connection.

6:30 PM – Reception 🎶🍰

The reception was a joyful blur of dancing, laughter, cake cutting, and tender moments. The American West Heritage Center was the perfect backdrop for a night full of energy and love.

9:00 PM – Onewheel Send-Off ✨

The night ended with a beautiful Onewheel send-off. Guests lined the path, cheering and waving light sticks as the newlyweds made their grand exit. It was the perfect ending to such a heartfelt day.

Final Thoughts 💛

Second shooting this wedding alongside Nicole at Iotamaker reminded me why I love what I do. From the temple steps to the sparkler send-off, every moment was full of life and love.

If you’re planning your wedding in Cache Valley, Logan, or Wellsville, Utah, you can rest assured that your story will be captured with care, from morning prep all the way to the final send-off.
