📚 What Inspires Me as a Photographer

Every artist has their why. That thread that pulls us toward our craft. For me, photography has always been more than capturing a pretty picture — it’s a way of seeing. A way of connecting. A way of remembering.

And like all artists, I draw inspiration from the world around me: the words I read, the music I hear, and the quiet moments in between.

Today, I’m giving you a peek into what inspires me most, and how it fuels the stories I tell through my lens. 🌿

📖 Words That Spark My Soul

Books have always been a refuge — a place where I could see the world through someone else’s eyes. I gravitate toward novels and memoirs that explore human connection, growth, and resilience. Some characters stay with me long after I’ve closed the cover, influencing the way I pose people, look for emotion, or edit a gallery.

Here’s one quote that sticks with me often:

"You could rattle the stars," she whispered. "You could do anything, if only you dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That's what scares you most." - Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Whether it's poetry, fiction, or essays, words help me frame the world — literally and figuratively.

🎶 Music That Moves Me

Music has the power to unlock something deep inside. It helps me access the feeling behind an image — joy, nostalgia, longing, celebration.

Before sessions, I often listen to songs that ground me or spark creativity. Sometimes, I even build playlists that reflect the energy I want to bring into a shoot.

One lyric I love:

"The perfect start to a perfect war. Putting down the roses, picking up the sword" - Aqua Regia by Sleep Token

Music reminds me that storytelling isn’t just visual — it’s emotional. And those feelings? They show up in every frame I take.

🌀 How This Shows Up in My Work

So what does this inspiration actually look like in your gallery?

It means I shoot with feeling. I chase light that reminds me of lyrics, frame shots that mirror scenes from my favorite books, and look for emotion over perfection every time. I want your images to feel like something — something real, something timeless.

Sometimes it’s quiet, sometimes it’s bold — but it’s always intentional.
