Booking a photoshoot can feel like a big step — and I know you probably have questions. That’s why I’ve put together this photography FAQ to help guide you through the process. Whether you’re wondering what to wear, how long a session takes, or when you’ll get your gallery back, I’ve got you covered!

📅 How far in advance should I book my session?
For most portrait sessions, I recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance. For weddings, securing your date 6–12 months ahead gives you the best chance of locking in your dream day.

👗 What should I wear to my session?
Outfits play a big role in the final look of your photos! I always suggest:
Choosing complementary colors instead of matching exactly
Avoiding busy patterns or large logos
Dressing in something that makes you feel comfortable and confident
👉 I even wrote a blog on what to wear for your photoshoot for more inspiration.
📍 Can you help me choose a location?
Absolutely! From stunning Utah mountain views to cozy urban spots, I love helping my clients find the perfect backdrop. I’ll ask about your vision and vibe, then suggest locations that fit.
⏱️ How long will my session last?
Portrait sessions: usually 1–2 hours
Mini sessions: about 15–30 minutes
Weddings: I offer custom packages to cover anywhere from a few hours to full-day coverage

🖼️ How long will it take to get my photos back?
Turnaround time depends on the type of session:
Portraits: 2–3 weeks
Weddings: 4–6 weeks
I always deliver through an online gallery where you can download, share, and even order professional prints directly.

📸 Do you retouch photos?
Yes — but lightly! My editing style is all about keeping things natural, timeless, and true-to-color. I’ll adjust lighting, crop for composition, and do light retouching when needed, but I’ll never over-edit.
🧾 Do I need to sign a contract?
Yes! Contracts protect both of us by outlining what’s included, timelines, and expectations. It’s one of the best ways to make sure everything is crystal clear before your session.
🛒 Can I order prints through you?
Definitely. I work with a professional print lab to make sure your photos look stunning on paper, canvas, or in an heirloom album. It’s the best way to ensure your images last for generations.
🌟 What if I feel awkward in front of the camera?
You’re not alone! Most people feel this way at first. I use a blend of posing and prompts (remember that blog post? 😉) to make you feel comfortable, confident, and natural throughout the session.
